Our first class weekend will explore the lenses through which Anabaptists have interpreted the biblical text. In preparation for this class, please read De La Torre, Reading the Bible from the Margins, and devotionally read Lloyd-Jones, The Jesus Storybook Bible (for example, read 1-2 stories a day). Review the two handouts posted online: 1) “Hermeneutical Lenses;” 2) “Questions to Consider When Reading De La Torre.” Watch the video lectures. For-credit students should turn in their reflection on De La Torre by Friday at 6pm.
