Peace Sunday
Sunday, September 20 has been set aside as Peace Sunday. James 3:13 – 4:8a is the primary text suggested by Mennonite Mission Network. Subscription Special for College Students
The Mennonite is a great way for your congregation’s college students to connect with the Mennonite Church and nurture their spiritual lives – wherever they attend school. A $22.00 subscription will begin with the October 2009 issue and run through the April 15, 2010 issue. If you would like your students to receive The Mennonite, just submit their name and address information with the handy form found at www.TheMennonite.org. Deadline is October 1.
Becoming a Generous Congregation
Mennonite Mutual Aid is hosting the webinar Becoming a Generous Congregation produced by the Alban Institute on Thursday, September 24 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:15 p.m. at the Mennonite Conference Center. This pastor’s resourcing event will explore the relationship between spiritual formation and money. We’ll have a talk-back time following the webinar sharing our own experiences and providing practical tools to use in your congregation. If there are others on your leadership team who would benefit from this gathering, feel free to invite them as well. Panelists for the webinar are John Clark and Jonathan Buuck from the James Company. RSVPs are helpful but not necessary. For more information contact Randy Nyce at 267-384-5350 or randy.nyce@mmapartners.org.
The opinions expressed in articles posted on Mosaic’s website are those of the author and may not reflect the official policy of Mosaic Conference. Mosaic is a large conference, crossing ethnicities, geographies, generations, theologies, and politics. Each person can only speak for themselves; no one can represent “the conference.” May God give us the grace to hear what the Spirit is speaking to us through people with whom we disagree and the humility and courage to love one another even when those disagreements can’t be bridged.
